Our Paranormal Investigative Procedure in Brief

phone interview

Step 1: Phone Interview

After you submit your request for assistance with our online form here, you will be contacted by our lead investigator as soon as possible to conduct a phone interview. This process is just a means for the lead investigator to gather any additional information about what you are experiencing. It is also a chance for you to ask any questions that you may have as well.

After listening to your experiences, answering your questions, and addressing any concerns that you may have, our lead investigator will be able to make a more educated decision as to how we should proceed to help you.

At the conclusion of the phone interview, the lead investigator will make one of the following recommendations:

  • Schedule an investigation within your home at a mutually beneficial date and time. The lead investigator will also go over the details of what to expect during the investigation and answer any questions or concerns that you may have about the process.
  • There are times when, depending on the information gathered during the phone interview that it will be determined that an investigation within your home would not be beneficial to you, at least not at that point. The lead investigator may make recommendations of things that you can do that may help with your specific situation.

Of course, no matter what the lead investigator recommends, the decision of whether to take their advice or any plan of action is entirely up to you.

No matter what you decide after talking with our lead investigator, we will always be here to attempt to help you to the best of our abilities and you can contact us any time with updates and or questions. We genuinely care for and provide a continuing relationship with our clients.

Step 2: The Investigation

If we have concluded that an investigation could be beneficial to you during the initial phone interview, we will schedule an investigation to be performed at your home.

We ask that you make sure to keep your appointment- but if you must reschedule or cancel for any reason- please give us as much advance notice as possible. Our paranormal investigations require a lot of preparation on our part, and it is exhaustive, time-consuming work. Also, we are normally extremely busy with other cases- so we ask that you please try to keep your appointment with us.

We have done well over one hundred investigations within private homes and have learned many things from these experiences- one being that every investigation is unique and situations that occur during an investigation can be extremely dynamic resulting in our need to quickly adapt and adjust as the investigation progresses. With that said, here is what you can generally expect and some important things to note:

  • Our investigations normally take between 4-6 hours. Typically, our investigations are scheduled to take place from 10pm to 4am, although there are times, depending on a range of factors, that an investigation lasts only a couple of hours or so.
  • After our arrival we dedicate approximately 1 hour to speaking with you in person, have you walk us through your home, ascertain the best equipment to use, and then properly set up and test everything before the investigation can begin.

Many people ask us why we do our investigations during the late evening hours? It is not because we believe that hauntings only occur during the dead of night (no pun intended). One of the main reason for performing investigations during the evening hours is because much of the scientific equipment that we use is extremely sensitive to lights, sounds, electromagnetic fields, temperature changes, etc. and as the world outside the home slows down during the later hours of the evening, it provides for a much more conducive environment to control and reduce the potential contamination of our data from external sources.

  • At the most, there will only be three of our team members conducting the investigation- our lead investigator and two assistants. Though, in rare cases, only our lead investigator will be conducting the investigation by themselves. Having a minimal number of people investigating your home reduces the chances of contamination of our collected data, helps to alleviate potential safety issues, and reduces stress to all involved.

We always treat our clients and their homes with the utmost empathy and respect. The safety of all involved during an investigation is of paramount importance to us.

  • We request that you do not invite others outside of your family to “watch” our investigation. Only you and the people in your home that have been directly affected by the paranormal activity that has been taking place should be present.
  • For additional safety reasons, we ask that you do not allow any young children to be present within the home, unless the activity within your home is seemingly to be targeting them negatively. With all that said, we do understand that a paranormal investigation within your home may seem stressful and perhaps a bit strange- so if you have a close friend or two that you would like to have there with you for support- that would be great.
  • We employ several types of scientific devices to collect as much data as possible. If you have any questions about any of the equipment being used, please just ask. Our lead investigator is a bit of a nerd- and loves to explain what the various devices are used for.
  • During the investigation, you may follow us and watch if you wish to do so, but we ask that during the investigation that you remain as quiet as possible so as not to potentially contaminate our extremely sensitive equipment.

Once the investigation is concluded, with your permission- we will perform a Catholic house blessing. It does not matter what religion you practice or even if you are agnostic or even atheist- we cannot urge you enough to allow us to bless your home and recommend that all that are present participate with the blessing as well.

follow up and review of evidence

Step 3: Follow-up and Data Review

During a typical paranormal investigation, a massive amount of data is collected, and all this data must be carefully and meticulously reviewed by our team. Because of the amount of data collected, and to ensure that we do not miss anything of important relevance to your case- this process is extremely time consuming.

We know that you want answers, and you want them as quickly as possible, but we ask that you please be patient while we go through all the data after the investigation of your home. This process can take one to two weeks- and sometimes a bit longer.

Once we have gone through all data collected during your investigation- we will contact you, typically via email or phone and present our findings. If there is evidence that we feel is relevant to your case (photos, video, audio, etc.) we will share that with you via a secure link along with a summary of our findings.

We cannot guarantee that we will capture any relevant evidence to support the claims of paranormal activity at your location. This does not necessarily mean that your claims are unfounded. We are dealing with the great unknown and more often than not, the paranormal does not show itself on demand.

In extremely rare cases, depending on what may have occured during the investigation process along with collaborating evidence collected, we may advise that an additional investigation be performed and a clergy member or demonologist be brought in for assistance.

It is important to note that during our 35 years of real-world experience, a vast majority of our clients feel a real sense of lasting relief from fear and anxiety immediately after the initial investigation and house blessing is performed. Capturing evidence is fine but obtaining peace and relief from potentially paranormal activity that was occurring in your home is so much better. That is what we here at the NCG call a win.
